It's Like This

Last week, we got to spend a few days with a friend of ours who had walked the Appalachian trail. He had finished up in Maine, where we happened to be at the time. Because he was uncertain when he would finish, he could not make reservations and the state was full of vacationers, but we had space, so he stayed with us for 3 nights. He expressed how this is what happens on the Appalachian Trial, where they have a phrase, “The trail will provide.”

Hugh and I noted that this is what we have noticed on the Camino de Santiago - what we see as miracle after miracle. However, we also countered with the idea that the world is actually always like this, as long as you are open to it and see what is happening. This is the benefit to stepping away - the clarity that comes when you return.

And then, as I have been taking classes through The Four Winds, Alberto Villoldo speaks a lot of how we dream our world into being. We begin to see in our world that which we vision or look for.

All basically different ways of saying the same thing.

An example of this which shone into focus this week is a story told by my daughter. She is currently working 2 hours from her house and arrived at her worksite having forgotten her boots. She thought she might have to take a half day off to buy boots, but she reached out to her coworkers on the off chance that someone might have a spare pair of boots to loan her. In the way things go, one of her coworkers had a brand new pair of boots in exactly her size. That person was desperately wondering how to get rid of these extra, heavy boots, as she was about to move. The boot transfer was a gift to both of them.

I invite you to open your eyes and see and elevate when this kind of thing happens to you!
