Community of Support

Today in yoga class, we explored the theme of friendship and community. As we move into the zillionth week of covid restrictions, as the weather cools down so even tiny gatherings become more difficult, as the holidays approach with family and friends unable to gather together in person, it is essential that we all remember that we are not alone.

In ordinary time, we have many reminders and reflections of our light. We meet together in classes, we see each other in stores, we join together in book clubs, poetry group, knitting groups, and, dare I say, CHOIR. Now, we are so fortunate to be able to see each other virtually through technology, but, even with this, it is easy to feel a sense of isolation.

I would suggest that, when your mind goes down that path, you might just sit and think about your whole community and how you are really supported. Perhaps not through hugs and harmony, but there are waves of love flowing to you from every direction.

(In the spirit of community, I am sharing with this blog a picture of a rock we found in Elizabeth park. Clearly someone is sharing their artistic talent with the greater community and it is fun to find these bits of whimsy.)
