What is Mine?

This year certainly has had its challenges! Looking back at blogs from 2018 and 2019, I am amazed at how there were times back then when we thought we were being challenged. The pandemic and its fallout combining with an election year has magnified all of this. With little to do and many people spending more time isolated and watching the phone/computer/tv, the collective angst seems to have elevated to an all time high.

Earlier this year, I was in a yoga class with Sarah Lafortune, and she invited us to care but not to carry. What a powerful idea. I have been trying to live this over the past few months. There is so much agitation and injustice, it would be very easy as an empath (or really for anyone) to get tied up in knots. However, I have been working on moving forward, each day figuring out what is mine to do. Each day, anchored in the day, trying to do my best with what I can, given my own strengths and weaknesses.

This grounded mindful approach has been working for me and my mental health. I invite you to try it for yourself.
