A wide open day
Today we had a free day. As happens on retreat or when you step away from regular life, we all were able to experience so many things in one day without feeling rushed. An important lesson for when we return to be mindful of how we spend our time!
The day started with a beautiful meditation led by Nancy Sinchak. In this meditation, she connected us to a beautiful stream of light and joy. I would like to mention here that our morning practices have been so enriched by the participation of some of the staff here. Every one of them is a beautiful soul.
From meditation, we moved into the yoga pavilion where Nancy Murray led a practice encouraging people to embrace the beauty and promise of the day.
So, I know I promised I would try to stop mentioning the food, but for breakfast we had GREEN EGGS AND YAMS!! Yes, you read that right!!!! Amazingly beautiful and delicious!
After breakfast, we all separated and were offered the opportunity to do whatever we wanted. Four of us walked out and took a taxi to Montezuma to spend some hours. They divided up and joined up at various times and enjoyed the beach, eating lunch out, and shopping at little stores and with street vendors.
The other four took a long hike up the river to a large lagoon with various waterfalls pouring into it. An amazing and rejuvenating time. We returned in time for a delicious lunch. (giant chocolate chip cookie for dessert!!).
The taxi returned the morning 4 from the town and picked up the other 4 for a very brief shopping and beach experience. The roads here are all dirt and the driver knew everyone. Friendly friendly people!
So nice to return to our jungle sanctuary, enveloped in the intentionally healing and nurturing environment, we enjoyed alone time and each other's company. Another delicious dinner, of course!!
We closed the day with some restorative yoga postures, serenaded by the sounds of the sanctuary. A restoring day and now we are lulled to sleep by the birds and the frogs and the flowing water.
Open open open.
