It's OK to Rest

This week during abundance class, we explored the concept that we often feel like we need to be busy. This seems like a universal issue in our society - how do we justify our existence? This made me think about the common quip that we are human “beings” rather than human “doings,” but what does that really mean? You might notice in our culture how people are always working, always adding more on to the schedule, checking emails at all hours of the day, etc. Notice how you do this to yourself. What would happen if you just gave yourself permission to rest? Rest and do nothing, maybe even be bored. It is possible that in the space that you create by letting go of doing you might find unexpected gifts - insight, creativity, or simple relaxation. If you try this, I’d love to have you comment here and let me know what happened!
