Blank Slate

I have been taking an advanced energy medicine class this year, learning to give the rites that we received while in the 6 month training. That training was so packed with practices that none of us had a chance to digest every part of it, and the rites, particular the high rites, seemed difficult to digest. This inspired me to take the advanced class.

This Wednesday, we all received the highest rite, Titanchis Ranchis, or the Creator’s Rite. With this rite, we learn that we are a co creator of the world as we see it, at once individual and connected to all that is. This part of the rite, I had understood. However, in the integration of the rite, we learned that the creative process involves three steps: the inspiration, the creation and nurturing of what is created and the letting go. Then, we rest in the blank space. To demonstrate this, we did an exercise where we created a symbolic mandala of what we would like to create in the world, and then we dismantled it. And we began again with the blank slate. Visioning what we wanted to create in the world, then erasing it clean. We did this three times, ending with a beautiful blank surface.

Through all of my years of spiritual practice, I had learned about non-attachment, impermanence, letting go, etc etc. Somehow, I had never seen or felt this concept as strongly as I felt with the energetic embodiment. The truth that LETTING GO, being in the blank space, is a key element of the CREATIVE process.

How freeing. How absolutely exhilarating!

How would it be to start each project, each day with a clean slate? No matter what you had done or been defined by in the past?
