Working on an Easy Perspective

This morning, the early birds woke up to a bright crescent moon and some beautiful stars. By the time yoga started on the patio of our beautiful hotel, however, the fog had settled in. Once you’ve done yoga outside on the Camino, you never want to do it anywhere else!

After a nice breakfast at the hotel, we gathered as a group and learned that today’s focus words were perspective and ease of being. Hugh invited people to explore things from different perspectives and to also see if this challenging day could be approached with a sense of ease.

After Reiki blessings, we walked together in the river of pilgrims out of the city of Portomarin and were off. We started the long uphill walk of the morning in the beautiful fog, which kept us cool and made the walk easier. Some of us took various diversions and some stayed following the path. One thing that surprised me was an encounter I had with a woman from Canada, who reported how she had been dreading today’s long walk along a road. Well, I have walked this path now 4 times, and I had never noticed the road. I had only noticed the fields and forest at the side of the road and the pilgrims walking with me. Speaking of pilgrims walking with us, many of us spent some time today walking with some 16 year olds from a Spanish school who are walking the Camino with school. One of their assignments was to interview pilgrims on the way, and we were happy subjects.

We had a great lunch prepared by Jose and continued our journey.

We all enjoyed the church with real candles to light at Palas de Rei and hopped on our bus to be transported to a beautiful spa, where we have practiced ease with massages, hot tubs, and delicious food. And the blog program didn’t work til bedtime, so for my ease, this abbreviated blog is what you get for today!

Cant’ wait for a good sleep and what tomorrow will bring!
