Have Fun

I have just returned from a lunch with a brilliant woman who has a deep spiritual practice and a wonderful bright soul!  It was a joy to reconnect with her, and she said something that I have been thinking about so much recently, too.  She said that she likes to get up in the morning and think about what a fun day she has planned!

Yes, over and over again, I am reminded that life is meant to be fun and joy filled!  There are so many things that happen as we get older (I mean any age out of childhood) that cause us to forget.  We try to meet someone else’s expectations,  we are tested and tested in school and then, it seems, in life.  There are bills to pay and things that need to get done, and somehow we forget - life is awesome, we are supposed to be enjoying ourselves!

It is interesting, with many years of teaching yoga, people come to me and they are weary,  stressed, and just looking for a break.  Their separation from their true light has caused them to feel pain or become ill.  In my observations of people over the years, this is the norm rather than the exception.  Most people have forgotten how it might feel to be light-hearted, what does it even mean these days to have fun?  Have you thought of any day recently like this?

So, to start, this week I invite you to start each day and plan one thing that might be fun.  Or, resolve to find something spontaneous to have fun with.  Swing?  Bounce a ball?  Do art?  Take a drive?  Listen to something funny?  And, like any practice, don’t beat yourself up if you forget!

Sending you all a big bubble of love!
