We made it!
Today was another magical day that felt like it lasted a lifetime. A hearty few woke up early for yoga and were treated for our only field of stars of the trip - the dark night sky with a splash of radiant starts. We practiced in a garden, soon enveloped in our customary fog.
After Angela started us out with today's word, kindness, we had an emotional start to the day as we realized it was our last day and all that it meant for our tired bodies and illuminating souls.
The path was filled with amazing gifts of beauty and healing. Jose told us we would start with 9 doable miles and meet at the mount of joy. 10 plus miles later we were certainly joyful when we came to see the beautiful statue and the top of the mountain but even more happy to see Jose and his delectable lunch. The walking today was enriched by walking with many pilgrims who had walked with us throughout the days.
We walked our last secton together as a group. No more forests as we descended into the city of Santiago de Compostela. We and the other pilgrims were now contending with other regular city pedestrians until we went through St. Peter's gate into the old city, which felt teeming with pilgrims.
What joy to see the cathedral, first from the side and then from the front. WE DID IT!!! All of us together!! Much rejoicing and hugging.
Jose took us to our hotel, a former monastery, where we gathered together to share our joys and insights from the trip. We have now separated to enjoy all the city has to offer, including a rest.
Love is always the answer. ❤
