This week, I have been thinking a lot about self care. Many of us, myself included, are very good at taking care of the needs of others. If a friend or family member needs anything at all, it is my joy to take care of it. However, it is important to dedicate time to self care as well. I do this by having a regularly scheduled massage with Nancy Sinchack each week. However, there are times that I fall short. Sometimes I fail to speak up for myself and defer unnecessarily to the desires of others, other times, I might neglect to schedule in time for meditation or walking. I could go on and on, but you get the picture.
Like all things, it comes down to awareness. When I forget, I just remind myself or notice what I have done and then resolve to do better in the future.
You might spend some time today considering what you might do to take care of yourself this week. Remind yourself that you deserve to be loved and cared for.
